Below is my article on the origin and namesake of Cushman Street, located on San Francisco’s Nob Hill between Huntington Park & the Pacific-Union Club. The one-block alley street is a signpost pointing to Nob Hill’s earliest history, going back to when it was one of the city’s first post-gold rush suburbs.
